Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally stabbed.
Officers were called at 8.53pm yesterday (July 23rd) to a report of a stabbing at an address on Carsluith Avenue, Blackpool.
Emergency services attended the scene and found a man with multiple stab wounds. The man, in his 50s, was taken to hospital, but sadly died a short time later.
An 18-year-old man from Fleetwood has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
A Home Office post mortem to establish a cause of death will take place in due course.
An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesman said: “We recognise this will have caused some concern in the community but incidents of this nature are rare and we have a dedicated team of detectives working on the investigation.
“While we have made an arrest we would continue to appeal to anyone with information or who feels they can assist with our enquiries to come forward.
“Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log 1664 of June 23rd. Alternatively independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.”
